Mark A. Shoup, President
Mark has built on the customer focus strategy since Metro's opening in 1975. Starting at the young age of 8, Mark learned the "hands-on" work ethic from his father Ralph by starting on the warehouse floor in the first place of business, Bladensburg Maryland. Mark grew with the company during his high school years as well as college. He received an Economics degree with business concentration from St. Mary's College of Maryland and certification from the Institute for Professional Advancement at Indiana University in Bloomington.
Ralph E. Shoup, Consultant
Ralph's duties are those consistent with the responsibilities of president with the addition of serving as an industry consultant providing product information and solving situational opportunities. The majority of Ralph's time is spend on premises, however, time is spent in the field educating customers and end users about products. Ralph's experience within the electrical industry began when he was a child in Charlotte North Carolina working for Union Supply. In 1965, Ralph commenced employment with Capital Lighting & Supply as purchasing agent. An opportunity presented itself in 1972 for Ralph to move into the Electrical Manufacturers' representative agency with Gene Capoletti. Ralph worked with this agency until he had the opportunity, in 1975, to establish Metro Electrical Associates, Inc.
Patricia S. Shoup, Controller
Patricia, is the office manager for Metro Electrical Associates, Inc. Business partners with her husband Ralph since the company started, Pat has made a reputation as a person who strives for excellence. She has experience within the accounting industry and inside sales. Currently, Pat is the inside sales contact for this agency. Her knowledge of computers as well as customer relations, makes her an integral part of Metro's success as an electrical products marketing agency.
Tim Coppersmith, Outside Sales
Tim began working with Metro Electrical Associates, Inc. in 2004. Tim has knowledge being involved with the manufacturing sector, the electrical distributor sector, as well as the electrical contractor level. Tim specializes in Grounding & Bonding Training as well as offering electrical contractors labor savings solutions.
